Rochelle “Deezy” Dalida is a Filipino-American fine artist and muralist who specializes in contemporary surrealism. She is currently based in the New Jersey and New York City area. Her love of art making started at a very young age as an extension of herself as well as a way of understanding the world. Overtime, she developed her technical skills in oil painting and mural making, while taking inspiration from the old masters of the Renaissance as well as the street artists of New York City. She has worked across the states managing mural projects for corporate clients and small businesses; as well as teaching at an atelier and assisting renowned artists in NYC.Throughout the years, her work has been influenced by examining the concept of duality; focusing on the juxtaposition of contradictory elements. Her work utilizes a balance of creative expression and technical skill to illustrate idiosyncratic emotions that she finds difficult to explain in words, but make sense in images. Deezy uses a range of mediums to create this sense of chaos and melancholic joy throughout her work. Although the right words may escape her, she will continue to exclaim her thoughts and emotions through her images on canvas.
